Activities
Welcome to the University of St Andrews Sailing Club! Every week we hit the water to train, compete, and cruise, alongside hosting two yacht trips every year. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or have never stepped foot on a boat before, there will always be a place for you in our club. We cater to a broad membership base of competitive, recreational, learning, and social members. The Club is comprised of several dinghy racing teams that train weekly and compete in a range of competitions throughout the year. Don’t worry if you’ve never raced before as we offer training and tactics sessions to all racing members. We also have a growing yacht program. We run yacht practices and try-outs open to all experience levels, giving you the unique opportunity to learn yacht handling, seamanship, and competitive racing right here on the Scottish Coast. Never sailed before? Don’t worry! We are incredibly proud of our beginner program. We run regular, accessible training sessions on Sundays specifically for complete beginners or those looking to refresh their skills and have a good time. We provide all the necessary safety equipment and can provide some basic kit as well. We don’t stop on the water either. We love a good time and host weekly socials. If you’re looking to find out more about the club, then make sure to come to our Freshers’ Week garden party to find out more about the club and meet some of our members.
