Why SailHQ?

We know club sailing

The roadmap comes from people who sail and have served on club committees.

Small team, real influence

No layers between you and the product. Everyone has a real say in what gets built and how.

Modern stack

Laravel 12, React 19, Tailwind CSS and Inertia. We choose tools that are easy to test and maintain.

Flexible working

Remote-friendly with flexible hours. We're a small team and we trust people to manage their own time.

How we work

Ship good work

Clean code, sensible testing and thoughtful design. No shortcuts and no over-engineering.

Talk to clubs

Feedback comes from the dinghy park and the race office, not a backlog spreadsheet. Decisions are grounded in real club operations.

Be honest

With clubs, with each other, about what's working and what isn't.

Areas we're likely to grow into

Not open roles. Just the kind of skills we'll need as the platform grows. If any of these match you, get in touch.

Checked country guidance

Keep RYA and club records connected.

The RYA sets national sailing guidance. Each committee still owns its local rules, people and evidence.

Keep RYA affiliation details current.

The RYA is the UK national governing body for sailing and boating. Affiliated clubs can use its club support, training and technical guidance.

What the club record should hold.

Record the affiliation owner, renewal date and the RYA contact used for each club decision.

Track RYA qualifications.

UK clubs often track RYA courses. Powerboat Level 2 covers boat handling and seamanship.

What the club record should hold.

Use the exact RYA course title, completion date, provider and any expiry or club sign-off.

Set a clear safeguarding policy.

The RYA recommends an appropriate safeguarding policy for affiliated organisations with children, young people or adults at risk.

What the club record should hold.

Keep the policy owner, review date, welfare contact and training evidence beside the relevant club roles.
