We are delighted that you have found our website.  A true members' club, run by enthusiastic volunteers, Tonbridge Town Sailing Club is located on the outskirts of town at one end of Haysden Country Park. The club was formed in 1972, to promote dinghy sailing at Haysden Water, a picturesque man-made lake beside the river Medway. From its modest beginnings, with no more than a caravan as a clubhouse, the club has grown. We now have a purpose-built clubhouse and storage facility along with separate changing rooms. Upstairs, when the club is open, we have a manned canteen selling hot and cold drinks as well as snacks. As you browse this website you will see we aim to offer something for everyone: sailing for pleasure, racing, training and a number of social events throughout the year. Our sailing season runs from March to the end of October each year. During the sailing season the club facilities are open weekly on Saturday afternoons 14.00 to 17.00 and Sundays from 09.00 to 17.00. Regular racing takes place on Sunday mornings and some Saturday afternoons with general sailing at other times. Our race series cater for all levels of experience and are friendly, enthusiastic and competitive!  A 'Frostbite' series runs into November for the more hardy sailors in the club! Boats are restricted to monohulls up to a maximum length of 16 feet. In the interests of safety, foiling dinghies are NOT allowed. You don't need to own a boat to sail with us. Members can hire a boat from our fleet of GP14s, Toppers, Picos, Optimists, Lasers and Solo. We offer these boats for hire at very reasonable daily rates. Space permitting, if you do own your own boat it may be parked in our secure boat yard. The club is a Royal Yachting Association approved Training Centre and its enthusiastic group of qualified instructors offer a range of courses for both young people and adults. We also have a very active Youth Training Squad and Junior Club. Who have regular sessions at the lake throughout the year. The Youth Training Squad also attend events up and down the country at a variety of venues and have represented TTSC very well on many occasions. New for 2026 TTSC can now offer Stand Up Paddle-boarding and Radio-Controlled Yachting at Haysden Water.
