Activities
Lochaber Yacht Club was established in 1954 and our members have been actively sailing on Loch Linnhe ever since. We are an established RYA sailing establishment and welcome new members who want to learn to sail. We are a family sailing club and do everything we can to get young people involved in sailing. We have a number of social events throughout the year including trophy races, our annual sailing regatta, weekly racing sessions and weekly Club Nights. We have an annual Prize Giving and Fitting Out Supper. Thursday evenings are when you can learn to sail; all you need is a pair of trainers you’re happy to get wet, we have buoyancy aids, wetsuits, and helmets for new sailors to use. The Club supports the Soling Class yacht – a former One Design Olympic boat. There are six Solings racing and sailing on the loch most weeks during the summer. If you would like to come try sailing a Soling, please get in touch, or better still, come down on a Thursday evening.
