About Annandale Sailing Club

Annandale Sailing Club was established in 1956 (as Annandale Yacht Club) by a small group of enthusiasts who began racing GP14 dinghies on Castle Loch, using a tiny former curling hut on the shore as their humble HQ. Their numbers quickly grew and the club established itself as one of the leading dinghy sailing centres in the south of Scotland. These days, the club runs racing on Thursday evenings and Sundays, as well as occasional special events including open meetings attracting competitors from across Scotland and the north of England. Informal training takes place on Tuesday evenings, while RYA courses – for adults and juniors, powerboat drivers and first aiders – are also run during the season. An annual Open Day in May is a popular community attraction. Our recently modernised and extended clubhouse has a spacious foyer/training area, toilets and changing rooms on the ground floor, with disabled access. Upstairs is a modern kitchen and a large social/training room with extensive views over Castle Loch, opening onto a glass fronted terrace.
