Yorkshire Ouse Sailing Club

The Yorkshire Ouse Sailing Club was founded in 1938 and has a picturesque club house on the site of a former ferry. The club is affiliated to the RYA and runs regular training days during the summer. The instructor team can teach and issue RYA Dinghy Level 1 and 2 in addition to RYA Powerboat Level 2 and club level powerboating. Around half of our members are Junior members and most of our activities are suitable for younger people and adult beginners. We have a friendly membership who are willing to help and assist you to get on the water. We also have a range of club boats that can be used for events. YOSC has regular sailing activities on a Wednesday evening and during weekends – We have a tiered system to cater and challenge all abilities from someone fresh from a training course to an experienced race winner. The sailing takes place on the River Ouse. River sailing is generally more challenging than sailing on a lake or the sea meaning that if you hone your skills with us, you will be able to use them anywhere.
