Activities
Scammonden Water Sailing Club formed in 1971 when the M62 motorway was built and is believed to be the only reservoir with a 6 lane motorway on its dam wall and surrounded by greenbelt elsewhere. We have a sailing area of 42 hectares water totalling 1,700 million gallons, which means we can cover plenty of water. Our club has ample free parking, a boat park for more than 100 boats, and the clubhouse has male and female changing rooms, a bar to unwind in after a day’s sail, games room and kitchen. For sunny days, club members and families can relax in the club grounds and make use of the barbecue and play area.
