Bradwell Cruising Club

The club was founded in 1990 by a group of cruisers based at Bradwell Marina on the river Blackwater. The group wanted to combine sailing (and power boating) with some serious social activities. This ethos of a 'social club that sails' is as strong today as it was then. The vast majority of our members are Bradwell based, however we welcome cruisers from all over. We have members based in the Essex/Suffolk rivers as well as a few who are cruising further afield who regularly keep in touch via the wonders of technology. Members include those with motor boats, sailing yachts and even those without boats. Each year our dedicated committee put together a varied programme of events; on-the-water and shore-based. This means that events take place every other weekend, including off season, and members also arrange impromptu events on the website to continue our fun adventures outside of the events programme. Every event is open to members and available to book through the members' page of this website. We pride ourselves in our low fee, fun and friendly club. We have a ‘virtual clubhouse’ – this website, with a members' area for arranging the bookings, discussing events and sharing ideas. We host our events at a variety of venues, this way we keep our fees low and our festivities high!
