About Shearwater Sailing Club

The Club is located on probably the most picturesque lake in Wiltshire. The 45 acres of Shearwater Lake, bounded by Azaleas and Rhododendrons, forms part of Lord Bath’s Longleat estate, within the village of Crockerton and two miles south of Warminster. The club was founded in 1960 and now members enjoy excellent launch/jetty facilities, dinghy parking and a clubhouse equipped for all practical sailor and social requirements. The lake is available for sailing use throughout the year, with organized racing and rescue boat facilities on Sundays between March and November, and on Tuesday evenings from May to August. Many sailing events are followed by a clubroom social event, with others throughout the year either in the clubhouse or elsewhere. An active ‘log’ is published on the web-site several times each year, keeping the members informed of forthcoming special club or open meetings and social events. Contributions to the log from all members are always welcome.
