About Llandegfedd Watersports
A large 434 acre water supply reservoir, constructed in the early 1960s by Cardiff Corporation to provide a source of clean drinking water for the rapidly growing city of Cardiff. Now owned and cared for by Welsh Water we are a hub for health, wellbeing and recreation here for you to enjoy. The body of water that formed after building the dam created a haven for birds, wildlife, walkers and watersport enthusiasts alike. A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in recognition of its value to over-wintering wildfowl our watersports season runs from 1st March to 31st October.
